Repair PM&R & B1 5th Floor
Location: Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center – Bonham, Texas
Client: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Semper Fidelis Construction & Development is performing water damage remediation and restoration work at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center following a water line break that caused damage to interior finishes in multiple areas of the facility. The project involves remediation and repair work in Building 29 and Building 1, including affected patient care and support spaces.

Our team is conducting water mitigation and mold remediation activities in accordance with certified remediation protocols. Work includes removal of damaged drywall, insulation, flooring, and base materials, along with removal and storage of furniture and equipment during remediation. During the demolition phase of the project, previously unidentified asbestos-containing materials were discovered within portions of the affected construction assemblies. As a result, the scope expanded to include regulated asbestos abatement procedures, which are being performed in accordance with federal environmental and safety requirements to ensure safe removal and proper containment of hazardous materials.

Affected areas are being cleaned and treated using HEPA vacuuming, air scrubbers, deodorization equipment, and dehumidification systems to ensure proper environmental conditions and eliminate mold contamination.

Following remediation and environmental clearance, the project includes full interior build-back of the affected spaces. Our team is installing new drywall and insulation, replacing flooring systems, reinstalling cove base, and replacing doors or hardware as required. Furniture and equipment are returned to their original locations upon completion, restoring the affected areas to full operational condition while maintaining compliance with VA construction safety and environmental requirements.
