Roof Replacement B12

Location: Fort Bliss – El Paso, Texas
Client: United States Army

Semper Fidelis Construction & Development is performing roofing and exterior restoration work at Building 12 at Fort Bliss. The project involves replacement of the building’s aging roof system while preserving the architectural character of the historic structure and ensuring the facility remains operational during construction.

Our team is removing the existing roofing system down to the structural wood plank deck and installing a new metal shingle roofing system with a self-adhering underlayment designed to improve durability and weather protection. Work includes repair and replacement of deteriorated wood decking where required, installation of new flashing and roof penetrations, and integration of tapered insulation and drainage improvements to support proper water flow across the roof assembly.

Additional work includes removal and replacement of fascia boards, beadboard soffits, gutters, and downspouts, along with masonry chimney repointing and installation of new flashing and sealant systems. The project also includes protection and temporary removal of rooftop mechanical equipment, HVAC components, antennas, and lightning protection systems to facilitate construction, followed by reinstallation and operational testing once roofing work is complete.

Because Building 12 is designated as a historic structure, all materials, profiles, and finishes are being coordinated with Fort Bliss Historic Preservation specialists to ensure the final installation matches the building’s historic design while meeting modern performance and warranty requirements.
